I've wanted to start my own company for as long as I can remember.

I'm a high-school student in Bordeaux, France, finishing my final year in maths and computer science. This fall I'm applying to Albert School in Paris to keep going down the path of AI.

I've been writing software for years. Every AI product I tried kept hitting the same wall — send your data to a server somewhere. So I started building one that doesn't.

Gillo is the product I always wished existed. Now it's the one I'm building.

Nowhere. Everything happens on your Mac, using a local LLM (Qwen2.5 7B) running through Ollama. No internet connection is required for Gillo to work, and none of your conversations or files are ever uploaded anywhere.
No. There is no Gillo account, no sign-in, no API key to manage. You install the app and it works.
There is no telemetry. Gillo does not phone home. We don't know how often you use it, what you ask it, or whether you've opened it today.
Any Apple Silicon Mac (M1, M2, M3, M4, and beyond). Intel Macs are not supported because the local LLM relies on Apple's unified memory architecture.
Pricing is not finalised yet. The local-first nature of Gillo means we have no per-user cloud costs, so we expect a one-time purchase rather than a subscription.
